Uttarakhand Panchayat Election 2025: The festival of panchayat elections at the village level in Uttarakhand is going to be held once again. State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar has formally announced the dates of Panchayat Election 2025. This time elections will be held in two phases and counting will be held on 18 July. Voting will be done for necessary posts like village head, gram panchayat member, area panchayat member and district panchayat member in every district of the state.
According to the election schedule, the District Election Officer will issue the notification on 23 June. After this, candidates can file nomination papers from 25 June to 28 June. Nomination papers will be examined from 29 June to 1 July and July 2 will be the last date for withdrawal.
Voting will be held in two phases
– The allocation of election symbol (symbol) for the first phase will be held on July 3 and voting will be held on 10 July.
– The allocation for the second phase will be on July 8 and the vote will be cast on 15 July*.
– Counting for both stages will be done simultaneously on 18 July.
This time a total of 74,499 village heads, 55,600 gram panchayat members, 2,974 area panchayat members, and 358 Zilla Panchayat members will be selected. This election will not only strengthen the democratic process, but the government of the village will also get a new route.
Ideal code of conduct came into force
The State Election Commissioner has also clearly stated that the model code of conduct has been made effective in the state. All districts have been ordered that elections should be conducted in fair, peaceful and transparent. The administration has been given strict instructions not to violate the code of conduct and immediate action should be taken on any kind of disturbance.

With the announcement of the State Election Commission, the political stir in every village has intensified. Potential candidates are engaged in electoral strategies. Efforts to gather meetings, discussions and support in rural areas have intensified. The Election Commission has appealed to all the candidates to follow the time limit and complete the process as per the rules.
