Uttarakhand: The Uttarakhand government has announced two major and important initiatives in the fields of education and environment. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a plan to make the students who topped the 10th and 12th board examinations of the state for one day, the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of their district. Along with this, orders have also been given to start a ‘river festival’ to conserve the major rivers of the state.

Toppers will get new experience

The Chief Minister has ordered that students who have secured the highest position in the 10th and 12th standard of Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education will be made one day DM and SP in their districts. The aim of this is that these meritorious students should be given a thorough experience of administrative work system, so that their confidence can increase and they can be fully prepared to achieve big goals in the future.

Chief Minister Dhami has ordered the officials to send a letter to all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police regarding this scheme and its action plan should be prepared soon. This scheme will not only be a symbol of pride by respecting the students, but will also give a better understanding of the government machinery to the younger generation.

People will be associated with ‘river festival’

The Chief Minister has made the second major announcement on the ‘river festival’. This festival will be organized in the name of the major rivers of the state, in which the local public’s share will be ensured. The purpose of this festival is to spread public awareness about the cleanliness, revival and protection of rivers. Along with this, Chief Minister Dhami said that the rivers of Uttarakhand are not only water bodies, but are a major identity of our culture and lifestyle. Public participation will be promoted to save the rivers through ‘Nadi Utsav’ and awareness will be spread about cleanliness and water conservation.

Focus on education and environment

According to experts, both these initiatives of Chief Minister Dhami will inspire the youth and the public towards the positive route. While on the one hand, their ability and self -confidence will be increased by giving administrative experiences to meritorious students, on the other hand, events like ‘river festival’ will lead to a sense of environmental protection in the society.

Let me tell you, this dual strategy of the state government will not only empower students in the coming time, but can also prove to be a milestone in the protection of the natural heritage of the state.
