Devbhoomi Dwarka: Out of 21 uninhabited islands located in the marine area of Devbhoomi Dwarka district of Gujarat, 7 islands have been freed from illegal occupation. According to reports, this important step has been taken with the joint efforts of the police and forest department. These islands include Khara Chusna, Meetha Chusna, Ashaba, Dhoroyo, Dhabadhbo, Samayani and Bhaidar, where a total of 36 religious and commercial structures were removed. Particularly 15 illegal constructions on Khara Chusna and Meetha Chusna islands have been completely demolished.
Many acres of land freed from illegal encroachment
Let us tell you that this action has been taken keeping in mind the maritime security of India, because these islands are very important from the security point of view. Officials told that who and how had done illegal construction on these islands is being investigated. Police and Forest Department are now preparing to take strict action in these cases. Action against encroachment has been going on in Devbhoomi Dwarka district for the last several months and till now many acres of land has been completely freed from illegal encroachment.
Action was taken in Bet Dwarka only a few days ago
A few days ago, the administration had used a bulldozer against illegal construction in the coastal area of Bet Dwarka. 50 residential and commercial buildings were demolished here. The special thing is that bulldozer action took place in this area for the first time in 2022. After the survey, the administration once again came into action. Many types of illegal activities were also being carried out from here through illegal construction. Due to all kinds of crimes ranging from smuggling, the administration was in trouble in this area.
‘7 islands are now 100% encroachment free’
The extent to which the problem of illegal encroachment had increased in Devbhoomi Dwarka district can be gauged by looking at the post made on ‘X’ by Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Sanghvi said in his post regarding the action, ‘Devbhoomi Dwarka! 7 islands of Dwarka district are now 100% encroachment free! A total of 36 illegal structures have been successfully removed from seven islands. Congratulations to the administration and team for their dedication and commitment to preserving our cultural heritage!’
