Vadodara: A major accident was averted in Vadodara district of Gujarat when the door of a children’s ride suddenly opened in the fair going on in Manjalpur area. In the video that surfaced, it is seen that as soon as the helicopter-shaped ride gained speed, the door of one of its compartments opened and two children were hanging from the ride. However, it was fortunate that the ride was stopped in time, due to which no major accident occurred. As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire department and police team reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
‘If anyone’s negligence is found, action will be taken’
According to reports, at present all the rides in the fair have been stopped and the matter is being investigated. Police said that if the fair operator is found negligent, strict action will be taken. It is seen in the video that some children are sitting on the helicopter ride and gradually the ride picks up speed. After a few rounds, a compartment door of the ride opens and the children hang onto it. However, before the ride can reach any higher speed, it is stopped and the children are taken off. In such a situation, children get off the ride safely and a major accident is averted.
‘In view of the seriousness of the matter, police team deployed’
Giving information about the incident, Vadodara city’s Additional Police Commissioner Leena Patil said, ‘A fair named Royal Fair is organized near Avadhoot Gate where children and their parents keep coming. There is a small helicopter ride here, due to which the door opened, a situation of children falling was created. Although no one got hurt in this, but considering the seriousness of the matter, a police team is deployed here and further action is going on. The fair is closed now. (Report: Satyam Nevaskar)
