Voting for the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 was completed peacefully on Saturday in four assembly seats of Gurugram district. This time 57.02 percent voting took place in Gurugram district, which was four percent more than the year 2019. However, in terms of voting, Nuh remained at the forefront among the surrounding districts with 68.28 percent. In Palwal, 67.69 percent people voted, while in Faridabad, 51.9 percent people voted. Counting of votes will take place on October 8. There will be three-tier security for the strong room and surveillance will also be done through CCTV cameras. Representatives of all the candidates can check the security arrangements.
District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav said that in Badshahpur assembly constituency, 2 lakh 81 thousand 510 voters exercised their franchise, which is 54 percent of the total number of 5 lakh 20 thousand 958. Similarly, in Pataudi assembly constituency, one lakh 56 thousand 323 voters exercised their franchise, which is 61.04 percent of the total number of two lakh 54 thousand 780.
Whereas in Gurgaon assembly constituency, 2 lakh 26 thousand 918 people voted, which is 51.02 percent of the total number of 4 lakh 43 thousand 102. Similarly, in Sohna Assembly constituency, one lakh 96 thousand 341 voters exercised their franchise, which is 68.06 percent of the total number of two lakh 86 thousand 119. Queues of voters started forming at all the polling stations from seven in the morning. There was 66 percent voting in the 2014 elections and 63.26 percent voting in the year 2009. This time the district administration had set a target of 75 votes in Gurugram, which could not be achieved.
Voting was delayed due to technical glitch: Voting for the assembly elections had started at 7 am on Saturday. There was a problem due to technical fault in EVM in Malibu Town. Apart from this, there was delay in starting of voting in Maruti Vihar also due to technical fault in EVM. There was a problem with the battery of the EVM machine in the booth built in Jamalpur village of Pataudi assembly. The battery was repaired in ten minutes and after that the voting started again.
62.85 percent voting in Rewari district
At the same time, 62.85 percent voting took place in three assembly seats of Rewari district. 61.30 percent voting was recorded in Rewari assembly constituency, 61.90 percent in Kosli and 65.60 percent in Bawal. Voting was completely peaceful. Crowds of people had started gathering at the voting centers since morning. The fate of 40 candidates from Rewari, Kosli and Bawal was sealed in EVMs.
