Singer Kanhaiya Mittal, who became famous for his song ‘Jo Ram ko laye hain, hum unko layenge’ (We will bring back Lord Ram) has given up his desire to join the Congress. He has said this while apologising for this idea. Mittal has thanked the BJP and also said that he did not know that the party leadership loves him so much.
Kanhaiya Mittal released a video informing about his decision and said that what he had said about joining Congress was wrong. He apologized for this more than once. Mittal said, ‘For the last two days, I have realized how much all my Sanatani brothers and sisters and especially the top leadership of BJP love me and care for me so much. I have been seeing for two days that all of you are upset, I apologize. And I take back my Mann Ki Baat that I want to join Congress.’
Kanhaiya further said, ‘I don’t want the trust of any Sanatani to be broken. If I break today, who knows how many more will break. Together, we all were with Ram, are with Ram and will remain with Ram. Once again, I apologize to all of you. You all got disturbed, our own people get disturbed. I felt that my Mann Ki Baat was wrong, I take it back. You should stay connected like this and keep serving the country. Once again, I thank the top leadership of BJP.’
Kanhaiya Mittal, originally from Haryana, had talked about joining the Congress. He wanted to contest the assembly elections in Haryana. It is believed that he was expecting a ticket from the BJP for the assembly elections, but when that did not happen, he tried his luck with the Congress. It is not clear yet whether he had any talks with the Congress or not or to what extent it was.
Kanhaiya Mittal is a big fan of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During the elections, his song became the theme of BJP’s campaign. In such a situation, when the news of Kanhaiya joining Congress came out, many kinds of discussions started taking place. This was seen as a setback for the BJP.
