BJP MP Jyotirmaya Singh demands AFSPA

In such a situation, BJP MP from Purulia Jyotirmaya Singh Mahato has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding to install AFSPA in Bengal. He said, ‘Hindus are bleeding in Bengal. Hindus were attacked and looted in Murshidabad, Malda, Nadia, South 24 Parganas areas. Law and order failed in the state. Like Kashmiri Pandits, Bengali is also falling prey to Hindus. I request Amit Shah ji to make offsa under Section 3 of the 1958 Act.

Arrangements made to maintain peace in Bengal
Internet service has been discontinued in violent areas of Bengal due to violent demonstrations and people have also been forbidden to gather. To maintain a peaceful atmosphere, 1,600 personnel of central forces have been deployed in violence -hit areas.
