Studied engineering from IIT Kharagpur
Vinay Kumar (IPS Vinay Kumar) is a senior IPS officer of 1991 batch. He is a native of Rampurani village of Mahua police station area of Vaishali district of Bihar. His father Ram Iqbal Shukla was a teacher. Vinay Kumar, the only brother among four sisters, was smart in studies since childhood. His primary education took place in Diksha village itself. After passing the matriculation examination in the village itself, he went to Patna for intermediate studies. He passed intermediate from Patna. After this Vinay Kumar studied engineering from IIT Kharagpur.
After studying engineering, Vinay Kumar started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. After this he gave the UPSC exam. But the exam results came after a year. But still Vinay Kumar (Vinay Kumar IPS) achieved success and became a police officer. Vinay Kumar’s wife died two years ago. There is a lot of joy among the people after Vaishali K Lal became the Director General of Police of Bihar. After becoming DGP, there is an atmosphere of celebration in his village.
Has handled the responsibility of many important posts
IPS Vinay Kumar has held the responsibility of many important posts in the police headquarters including the Superintendent of Police of many important districts in Bihar. Vinay Kumar has also held the post of ADG in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) before Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation. He has also held the charge of ADG Law and Order. While holding the post of Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation, Vinay Kumar had constructed many police buildings.
