Kulhar Pizza couple News: After receiving threats from Nihangs, Kulhar Pizza couple – Sahaj Arora and Gurpreet Kaur have appealed for security in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, on which the High Court has issued a notice to the Punjab Government and sought its reply. The High Court has ordered the DGP of Punjab and the Police Commissioner of Jalandhar to take appropriate steps for the safety of the couple. The couple had filed this petition citing threat to their lives due to the opposition of Nihang Man Singh. Punjab DGP, Jalandhar Police Commissioner and some other persons have been made respondents in this petition. The court has ordered all the defendants to file their replies by November 13.
Why are Nihangs threatening?
After the objectionable video of Jalandhar’s Kulhad Pizza couple went viral last year, they have again become active on social media. Nihangs are angry with Kulhar-Pizza couple Sahaj Arora and Gurpreet Kaur for continuously making videos. He said that either Sahaj Arora should stop making videos or stop wearing turban. He said that Kulhar Pizza couple is tarnishing the image of Sikh men. Nihang Sikhs have expressed strong objection to the use of turban in social media content. Nihang Man Singh of Budha Dal had said that this has had a negative impact on the children. At the same time, if such videos are not deleted then strict action will be taken against the couple. Nihang Singh Baba Mann had decided after a meeting with the police officials that if the police did not take any action till October 18, he would close the couple’s restaurant.
Have also sought protection from Shri Akal Takht Sahib
Regarding this matter, Sahaj Arora had released a video saying that I will go to Sri Darbar Sahib and complain whether I can decorate the turban or not. Sahaj said that if I am wrong then I should be punished. Sahaj said that everyone is misbehaving with me and my family. We have made a mistake, but we should also be heard. Sahaj said Shri Akal Takht is our organization. She declares right as right and wrong as wrong. I am confident that we will definitely get justice. Sahaj had appealed to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib for the safety of his family and the safety of the restaurant.
Loss of life and property, we should be given security
After receiving the ultimatum of October 18 from the Nihangs, the Kulhar Pizza couple had approached the High Court for protection. He demanded security and said that his life was in danger. It was told in the petition that a few days ago Nihangs had protested outside his restaurant. During this, Nihangs had said that the obscene video made viral by Kulhar Pizza Couple was having a negative impact on children. Sahaj and Gurpreet Arora have demanded security in the petition citing threat to their lives. He has said that he is very upset due to the threat from Nihang Singhs. There is a danger of loss to their life and property, hence they should be provided security.
