The Supreme Court has reprimanded the Haryana government for not following the previous order given regarding air pollution. The country’s Supreme Court has warned that it will file a contempt case against the Haryana Chief Secretary if the order is not followed.
The Supreme Court asked why the state government was shying away from prosecuting people for burning stubble and letting them off after imposing nominal fines. ISRO is telling you where the fire started and you say you did not find anything.
The Supreme Court bench said, “This is not a political matter. If the Chief Secretary is working at someone’s behest, we will issue summons against him also. Nothing has been done to control pollution. Same with Punjab. That’s how it is. The attitude is completely insubordinate.”
The Supreme Court said that there is no mention of compliance in the affidavit filed by Haryana. The Supreme Court ordered the Haryana Chief Secretary to appear physically next Wednesday and explain why no strict action was taken against the violators and government officials.
