These days the communal atmosphere in Himachal Pradesh is tense. The dispute over a mosque in Sanjauli, a suburb of the capital Shimla, has heated up the cold and beautiful valleys. This is being discussed not only in Himachal but in the entire country for many days. A section of the Muslim community is questioning the Congress on social media, which is in power there. ‘All Eyes on Himachal Muslims’ is trending on X.
By 10 am on Monday, more than 40 thousand people had posted on ‘X’ with this hashtag. Many people, including All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan, are sharing some special pictures. Waris Pathan has shared a picture of two bulldozers in front of the mosque, on which ‘ALL EYES ON HIMACHAL MUSLIM’ is written. However, there has been no official response from the Congress party on this.
Many Muslim users on social media are questioning the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. A user named Abdul Majid Sheikh wrote, ‘Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has time to respond to the hatred of the whole world, but he remains silent on the anti-Muslim agenda going on in his own party-ruled state Himachal. The shop of love is currently closed for Muslims!’
Another user named Ansar Imran SR wrote, ‘In Himachal Pradesh, there is an open call to demolish the mosques of Muslims, Muslims are being forced to migrate, slogans are being raised for economic boycott of Muslims but… Mohabbat Ki Dukan is silently supporting the hate campaign!’ It is worth noting that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi often talks about running a ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukan’.
Imran Warsi said, ‘The way the MLAs/ministers of the Congress government are targeting the Muslims of Himachal and the mosques there, it has been proved that the goods of hatred are sold in the shop of love of the Congress, and there is no difference between BJP/Congress. Both are the same!’ A user named Furqan Ahmed wrote, ‘Mosques are being demolished in the Congress government, Rahul Gandhi’s silence shows that his secularism is just a sham. Muslims are being thrown out of their homes, and this ‘Bharat Jodo’ leader is watching the spectacle of your destruction!’
What is the whole controversy
In fact, recently, Hindus protested on a large scale calling a mosque in Sanjauli illegal. There was uproar from Shimla to Sanjauli for several days. A minister of the Himachal government also called it illegal in the assembly. Meanwhile, the mosque management said that they are ready to demolish the illegal part themselves. After Sanjauli, some mosques in other cities of Himachal are also being called illegal and demands are being made to demolish them.
