Shivlingappa, a resident of Matauli village in Karnataka, reached Apna Ghar Ashram in Bharatpur, Rajasthan with 16 items of makeup and met his wife after 18 years. He applied vermilion tilak to his wife at the ashram itself and made her wear mangalsutra, bracelets, earrings, bangles and clothes. After that, he happily took her home with him. The special thing is that these 16 items of makeup were sent to Shivlingappa by his second wife for his first wife. Shivlingappa, thinking his first wife was dead, had married a second time to raise his three children.
According to the officials of Apna Ghar Ashram, the woman Prabhuji Lalita was rescued in 2013 from Charitable Trust Surat. And due to lack of space, she was admitted to Apna Ghar Bharatpur. She was undergoing treatment since then. When her health improved, she told her address and the police contacted her given address.
Husband Shivligappa, who reached the ashram from Karnataka, told that when Lalita left the house, he had two sons and a small daughter at home. Lalita was not found even after a lot of searching. Everyone here thought she was dead. In such a situation, Shivligappa married Mahananda for the second time to raise the children. The second wife Mahananda brought up these three children by educating them. The daughter got married and both the sons are working.
As soon as the police reached the house with the information that Lalita was alive, they could not believe that the first wife was alive. The verification was done through video conferencing. Shivlingappa told this to his second wife Mahananda. Everyone became happy as soon as they came to know. The second wife and children said bring them back quickly. The second wife Mahananda was the happiest in this. Mahananda told her husband that when you go to pick up didi Lalita, I am giving you these makeup items like mangalsutra, earrings, bangles, clothes etc. You go to Bharatpur and make her wear these and bring didi home with full rituals.
On Saturday, Shivlingappa met his wife Lalita, whom he had separated from 18 years ago, at his home ashram. After coming to his home, the husband made Lalita wear the mangalsutra once again, filled the parting of her hair with vermilion, put bangles, earrings and a nose ring on her. He also made her wear a red colour sari and whatever makeup items he had brought with him. Just like a newly-wed is taken home for the first time, Shivlingappa happily left for his village in the same way.
