Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi can make his daughter-in-law Deepa Manjhi the NDA candidate in the by-election from Imamganj assembly seat of Gaya district of Bihar. It is being told that Hindustan Awam Morcha (Hum) patron Manjhi has decided to give ticket to his son and minister Santosh Kumar Suman’s wife Deepa in the by-election. In such a situation, Jitan Ram’s second son Praveen Kumar and son-in-law Devendra Manjhi may lose their jobs. Both of them were also considered to be the main contenders for the ticket from Imamganj. However, the party has not yet officially announced the candidate.
According to reports, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM has finalized Deepa Manjhi as the candidate from Imamganj seat. Manjhi himself has been an MLA from this seat. He had resigned from the legislature after becoming MP from Gaya in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. After this, by-elections are being held here. According to seat distribution in NDA, Imamganj has come in our account. Whereas, JDU will field its candidates from Belaganj and BJP will field its candidates from Tarari and Ramgarh.

Manjhi’s daughter-in-law’s entry into politics
Jitan Ram’s daughter-in-law Deepa Manjhi is going to enter politics through the by-election. Deepa has been playing an active role in the party. She has also been taking part in the election campaign of her husband Santosh Suman. His claim from Imamganj seat is considered strong.

Will the leaves of son and son-in-law be cut?
There have been speculations for a long time that someone from Jitan Ram Manjhi’s family will contest the by-election from Imamganj seat. Apart from Deepa, the names of Jitanram’s second son Praveen Kumar and son-in-law Devendra Manjhi were also in discussion. However, now there are chances of his being dismissed.
