A middle aged woman was raped by a bus driver in a bus parked at the bus stand in Bhatagaon, Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The police have arrested the accused.
It is said that the said bus stand has become a den of criminals. A 50-year-old woman was raped in a parked bus late on Friday night. The bus driver had mixed intoxicants in fruit juice and made her drink it. When the woman became unconscious, he raped her at around 11 pm. Before this, the accused was with the woman the whole day. He also fed her. The accused Soni Lal Jharia has been arrested.
The entire case is of Tikrapara police station area. The victim is a resident of Mahasamund district. She had left her home due to a family dispute. She was staying near the bus stand for the last three days. Since then, the driver had an evil eye on the woman. Police detained two accused in the case and interrogated them, in which one accused has been arrested after his identity was confirmed.
Meanwhile, while giving information about the formation of a committee to investigate the incident, state Congress president Deepak Baij said that the incidents of incest are increasing continuously in the state. He said that the incident at a public place like a bus stand is very unfortunate. Congress will protest against the incidents of incest.
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that the government is taking strict action against people involved in such crimes. He said that the government and the police are taking prompt action for the incidents happening in the state. Such incidents should stop.
