Gandhinagar: On March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the huge program will be addressed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Navsari district of Gujarat will be commanded by women policemen only. A Gujarat minister gave this information on Thursday. He said that this will be the first such initiative in the country.
Law and order will be handled by women police
State Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said, “The Gujarat Police is taking a unique initiative on the occasion of International Women’s Day. For the first time in the history of India, women policemen will take over the entire security system of the Prime Minister’s program – from their arrival at the helipad in Vansi Borsi village of Navsari to the venue.
Sanghvi said that women policemen will include IPS officers and constables. The Prime Minister will be on a two -day visit to Gujarat and Union Territory Dadra and Nagar Haveli on Friday and Saturday, during which he will address the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sammelan’ in Vansi Borsi village on 8 March. Sanghvi said, all women policemen, including more than 2,100 constables, 187 sub-inspectors, 61 police inspectors, 16 Superintendents of Police, one Superintendent of Police, one Police Inspector General of Police and an officer of Additional DGP rank, all women policemen will take security on that day.
This initiative will give a strong message to the world
The minister said that senior women IPS officer and Home Secretary Nipuna Torwane will monitor the security system. She said that this initiative will give a strong message to the world on Women’s Day and will also explain how women are playing an important role in making Gujarat a safe state.
