A shameful incident has come to light in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. Here a man left his wife after four months of marriage saying that his wife is black and now he cannot live with her. After her husband refused to live with her, the victim along with her family reached Chhatarpur SP office and pleaded for help from the police.
The case is of Tatam village of Maharajpur police station area of Chhatarpur district. Pooja Ahirwar, who lives here, was married 4 months ago to Rohit Ahirwar, who lives in Mankari village, according to Hindu customs. Pooja Ahirwar says that her father had given more than his means in dowry and had arranged the marriage worth seven lakh rupees.
The victim said that her father had given a bike worth one lakh rupees in dowry in addition to cash. The victim Pooja Ahirwar says that everything went well for a few days after the marriage, but after a month, Rohit started taunting her about her complexion. He refused to live with the woman saying that she is dark skinned and now he cannot live with her.
The victim says that her parents had called a social panchayat comprising relatives and other people of the society. Rohit came to this panchayat and beat her up, calling her a woman and then left her there. On this matter, Pooja’s mother Geeta Ahirwar says that when she protested against the beating of her daughter, her son-in-law Rohit beat her with a stick, due to which she suffered injuries on her head and eye.
On this matter, Maharajpur police station in-charge Surabhi Sharma says that the family members had come to the police station. She told that an FIR has been registered in the case of assault on the victim’s mother, if the girl wants to register an FIR, she can come to the police station.
