All England Open Badminton Championship 2022 Final: World Championship bronze medalist India’s Lakshya Sen (Lakshya Sen) He missed out on creating history in the final of the All England Open Badminton Championships on Sunday. Lakshya was defeated by world number-1 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the final of the men’s singles category.Viktor Axelsen) faced defeat against Top seed Axelsen beat young Indian badminton player Lakshya 21-10, 21-15. Lakshya lost the title match in 53 minutes. With this defeat, Lakshya Sen missed out on becoming the third Indian champion after the great Prakash Padukone in 1980 and Pullela Gopichand in 2001. With this win, Axelsen has now raised his career record against Lakshya to 5-1.
Lakshya Sen was initially trailing 0-6 in the final against Viktor Axelsen. Even after this, Axelsen maintained his lead and took the score to 11-2. Axelen then won the first game in a one-sided fashion 21-10 in 22 minutes.

In the second game too, Lakshya was initially trailing 4-7. Even after this, he could not stand the experience of Victor and kept on falling behind in the match. Axelsen went on to take an impressive 17-10 lead. After this, he did not look back and won the second consecutive game by taking consecutive points 21-15 to capture the title.
World No 11 Lakshya had earlier advanced to the final after beating Malaysia’s Ji Jia Lee 21-13, 12-21, 21-19 in a three-game clash in a thrilling semi-final on Saturday. He became the first Indian male player to reach the final after 21 years. Lakshya became the third Indian male player to reach the final after the legendary Prakash Padukone in 1980 and Pullela Gopichand became champions in 2001.
Lakshya, 20, had a 1–4 record before going against number one seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the final. Lakshya has been running in great rhythm for the last six months. He won his first Super 500 tournament in January this year in the form of the India Open and then finished runner-up at the German Open last week.
