All England Championship runner-up Lakshya Sen on Monday decided to pull out of the Swiss Open Super 300 badminton tournament due to the busy schedule of the past two weeks. The 20-year-old, who hails from Almora, had reached the finals of the German Open and All England Championships in the last two weeks.
Vimal Kumar, who coached Sen, said, “He will not play in the Swiss Open as he is feeling very tired. He has informed the Badminton Association of India about this. Sen was to play his first match against compatriot Sameer Verma at the Swiss Open.
Sen has done exceptionally well in the last few years. He won a bronze medal at the World Championships in December while securing his maiden Super 500 title in January at the India Open. He then reached the finals of the German Open and the All England Championships.
