The third and final match of the three-match ODI series between West Indies and England on 6 November in Bridgetown was in the news for a special reason. West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph angrily left the field midway through England’s innings and went to the dugout. For this, Alzarri Joseph was criticized by head coach Darren Sammy and now this fast bowler has been suspended for two matches.
The CWI has suspended Alzarri Joseph for two matches following an on-field incident during the third CG United ODI at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, Cricket West Indies said in a media release. This matter has also been reviewed by the senior coaching staff.
However, after his action, the West Indies right-arm fast bowler has accepted his mistake and publicly apologized. Alzarri Joseph said, “I admit that my passion got the best of me. I have personally apologized to captain Shai Hope, my teammates and the management. I also apologize to the West Indies fans. I understand I am aware that even a small error in judgment can have far-reaching consequences. I am deeply sorry for any disappointment.
Actually, during England’s innings, Alzarri Joseph came to bowl the fourth over and was looking for some special field placement. However, captain Shai Hope did not listen to Alzarri Joseph and due to this he got angry and bowled his over maiden and also took the wicket. But soon after, Alzarri Joseph walked off the field. Alzarri did not stay on the field for one over and then came back. Alzarri Joseph has been suspended due to this incident. The video of this incident also went viral on social media.
