The economic crisis in India’s neighboring country Sri Lanka caused turmoil. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) may suffer a big loss. Actually, the country has to host the Asia Cup 2022, on which the clouds of doubt are hovering. If he loses the host, he can lose 5-6 million dollars i.e. about 50 crores. Now the board is engaged in successfully organizing the series against Australia. Based on this, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will take a decision on this. BCCI secretary Jay Shah is its chairman.
Speaking to Inside Sports. SLC secretary Mohan D’Silva said, “No final decision has been taken yet. It all depends on how we organize the Australian series. Jay Shah and other ACC officials have assured us that if all goes well, the Asia Cup will remain in Sri Lanka. ,
The Australian team is already in Sri Lanka and the series will start from June 7. DeSilva further said, “Hosting teams like India and Pakistan generates huge revenue. So we are still trying to persuade countries to play in Sri Lanka. Revenue is important to us. At this time it is important for the dollar to come to our country. We are all ready to host the Asia Cup and we are all positive.”
