Meanwhile, former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin has also given his opinion on the issue. He said in a conversation with the media that if everything goes well then there should be an India-Pakistan match, and if not then it should not be done at all. Azharuddin said, “There is anger across the country against Pakistan after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Former India players in the World Championship of Legends refused to play with Pakistan, due to which the match was canceled. However, the two teams are ready to fight each other at the international level.”
When Azharuddin was asked what he had to say when India and Pakistan are in the same group in the Asia Cup, he said, “This is the tournament of the Asian Cricket Council, so I cannot say much on it, but I believe that if something has to be done, everything should be done. Azharuddin’s statement on cancellation of India-Pakistan match
