BCCI New Rules: After the Indian team’s crushing defeat against New Zealand and Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a tough stance. BCCI is now preparing to impose all kinds of restrictions on its players. Under the new rules decided by the BCCI, if a tournament is of 45 or more days, then the wife or any family member will be able to stay with the players only for two weeks. If the tour is for less than this, the wife will be allowed to stay with the player only for seven days. Along with this, all the players will have to travel in the bus with the team.
Restrictions will apply to players
Actually, Team India had to face a crushing defeat against the teams of New Zealand and Australia. BCCI has taken this defeat of Team India very seriously. Before COVID-19, many rules were made by BCCI but later these rules were removed. Now BCCI has decided to re-implement these rules.
India has to play a long series against England in the coming days. This series will be about two months long. Before this series, BCCI is preparing to impose many restrictions on the players. Rules have also been set for the manager of Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Now my wife will not be able to accompany me during the entire tour.
Recently a review meeting was organized by BCCI in Mumbai. Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma were also present in this meeting. After this review meeting, new guidelines are now being made by the board. An official associated with BCCI’s Mumbai office said that the biggest restriction for the players is that during the tournament of 45 days or longer, players cannot keep their wife or any family member with them.
The wife and any family member will be allowed to stay with the player for a maximum of two weeks only. If the tournament is of short duration then the player will be able to keep his wife with him only for seven days.
Players will have to travel by bus only
Along with this, it has also been made clear by the board that all the players will have to travel in the bus with the team. During the tour of Australia, Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah used to travel by other vehicles instead of traveling by bus with the team. In such a situation, BCCI has now implemented strict rules for all the players.
Now all the members of Team India will have to travel in the team bus along with other players. No matter how big a player he is, now he will not be allowed to travel separately. BCCI believes that this will instill a sense of unity within the team.
Strictness on head coach Gambhir’s manager also
Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir’s manager Gaurav Arora always stays with him during his tours. Earlier, no head coach ever had a personal manager. In such a situation, BCCI has also set rules regarding Gambhir’s manager. Gambhir’s manager will not stay with the team in the hotel and will not be allowed to sit in the VIP box at the stadium.
Along with this, the head coach’s manager will not be allowed to travel in the team bus or the bus running behind the team bus. BCCI has also decided that if any player’s luggage exceeds 150 kg during air travel, then BCCI will not pay his money. The player must pay the additional money to the airlines themselves. Along with this, the tenure of the support staff will also be decided.
