In this case, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), while giving a big verdict, blamed the team management and the organizers for the death of 11 people.

A Victory Parade in Bangalore city was taken out on 4 June 2025 to celebrate the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Thousands of fans gathered in it. Where there was a stampede due to negligence in mob management and neglect of safety standards. 11 people were killed in this painful accident, while more than 50 people were injured. The petition filed in the CAT alleged that the RCB team management, organizer and local administration did not make a proper plan of security arrangements.
The organizers did not crowd
The tribunal admitted that the organizers did not make proper arrangements for crowd control, medical emergency and alternative exit routes. This negligence was the main reason for the accident. The CAT said in the judgment that the RCB team management did not coordinate with local administration and security agencies to the program that attracts a heavy gathering. This is a big criminal negligence case, in which 11 innocent people have died.
Families of the deceased will have to pay compensation
The tribunal directed that the relatives of the deceased should provide compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the RCB franchise, Karnataka Cricket Association and Brihat Bangalore Metropolitan Municipality (BBMP) jointly. Along with this, a financial assistance of Rs 5-5 lakh has been ordered to the injured. CAT has submitted the report for further criminal action in this case to the state government. Along with this, it is recommended that the organizers should file a case under Section 304A (careless death) of the IPC.
No official reaction of the team
There has been no official response from the RCB management. According to sources, the team management may soon clarify its position by holding a press conference. This decision is a warning for RCB and organizers. Along with this, there is a lesson for other sports events and large public meetings that there should be no compromise on security in the festival. It is a common responsibility of the administration and organizers to avoid such accidents in future. Now the CAT’s decision has raised the hope of some justice to the families suffering.
