Champions trophy 2025: Team India succeeded in winning the Champions Trophy for the third time in Dubai on Sunday. Team India was seen in a brilliant rhythm from the first match itself and till the final match, the team retained the same sequence. In this ICC tournament played in Pakistan’s hosting, India’s victory has worked to a great extent for the loss of defeat in the final of the ODI World Cup in 2023.
Since this victory in the Champions Trophy, there has been a festive atmosphere across the country, but three veteran cricketers of Team India have been disappointed. These three veteran cricketers could not get their names registered in the Champions Trophy victory. Despite the continuous playing for Team India, these three players could not become part of the title winning team for different reasons.
Missing the credit for the big victory
After this victory in Dubai, legendary cricketers like Team India captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja added a trophy with their names. Some more players registered their names in the team that won the ICC title for the first time. However, three legendary players of Team India Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Yashasvi Jaiswal were disappointed as they were not part of the Champions Trophy winning team this time. Although these players have performed brilliantly during the recently played matches, they missed out on gaining credit for this big victory.
Jaspreet Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is the largest and first name of the three players who have disappointed this time. In fast bowling, Bumrah is counted among the best bowlers in the year at this time and the world’s legendary batsmen are also nervous in facing his bowling. Prior to the Champions Trophy, Team India succeeded in winning the T20 World Cup and Bumrah had a big role in India’s victory. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, Bumrah also performed brilliantly and reached Team India final. However, in the final, Australia won the title by defeating India.
Jasprit Bumrah could not be a part of the Indian team in the Champions Trophy due to injury. Bumrah was hurt at the time of Team India’s Australia tour and due to this he was not included in the team. His lack was also felt in Dubai. However, other players of Team India won all matches through excellent performance. If Bumrah had joined Team India, he would definitely have got a big credit for this victory.
Mohammad Siraj
In recent years, Mohammad Siraj has done well in fast bowling and has troubled the opposition batsmen. During the last two years, he has taken the most wickets for India in ODI format and has impressed everyone with his talent. On the basis of good line length and swing, he has managed to win Team India in many matches. He could not become a part of Team India due to a separate pitch status in Dubai and the decline in performance in recent times. For this reason, he too was deprived of wearing the winning medal of the Champions Trophy.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Among the rising batsmen of Indian cricket, the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal is taken very prominently. Yashasvi Jaiswal has given India a difficult victory in many matches on the basis of his batting. He has also performed strongly during domestic cricket and IPL matches. Along with limited overs, he has also done well in Test cricket.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was part of the T20 World Cup winning team due to explosive batting in the top order, but this time he was not included in the Champions Trophy team due to the presence of several senior players. Although Yashasvi will get many big opportunities in the coming years due to the young age, but he could not be a part of the Champions Trophy winning team.
