Since the retirement of two veteran batsmen Rohita Sharma and Virat Kohli from Indian Test cricket, the team has been passing through major changes. Apart from this, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, who left their mark in the middle order, do not even fall into the category of selection. Due to which the change in the Indian team will be clear when the Test series against England starting on June 20. Instead of old faces, new faces as well as batting orders will also be seen completely changed.
At the same time, veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has put his opinion in front of everyone due to this big change in the team. He says that the change is not going to be so easy. He said that the young players who have made a place in the Test team have come to play most of the white ball cricket and not from the first class or the red ball, due to which they and the team can face the difficulties. We are getting very few players from our domestic tournaments like Ranji. However, this does not mean that we have a shortage of talent. But in the Test, the understanding of cricket, patience and the art of playing according to the conditions is different.
Cheteshwar further added that even when England’s aggressive strategy like Bazball could not succeed every time because the test requires the right balance between aggression and understanding. Giving the example of Sehwag, Pujara said that he was also an aggressive player but he achieved great success in Test cricket because he knew when to play with Sayyam and with aggressiveness and the same understanding youth would have to learn the youth.
What Pujara said about his selection
Pujara, who has been out of the team for a long time, said that he is also available for selection. Let me tell you, he represented India in the World Test Championship final in 2023 two years ago. After which he was out of the team. It was previously dropped in 2022 due to poor performance from the team. But he made a strong comeback through a brilliant game of county cricket.
