Ed Investigation: The betting app One X Betting was initially introduced as a skill -basged game, but the Enforcement Directorate (ED) found out that the overall app work falls under the gambling category. For which, former cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina have been questioned by the ED. Apart from these, the names of Bollywood actors Sonu Sood and Urvashi Rautela have also come in the case.
Violation of I Act instructions
The Enforcement Directorate has indicated from the initial inquiry that the promotion violates the instructions of the I Act and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting etc. Media houses and publicity agencies were paid more than 50 crore money to promote the app. The accused had a direct connection to “1xbat” with QR code and web links in the promotion of the app. Which is being tracked by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team.
1.6 billion visits on platforms
The ED has started testing transaction data, banking transactions, and sources using false user accounts from the accused. According to the data, in 2025, there were about 1.6 billion visits on illegal online betting platforms. These apps have earned 27,000 crores in a year. According to the ED, about 22 crore population of the country is linked to the app, including 11 crore regular users.
Sonu Sood and Urvashi Rautela also named
The Enforcement Directorate has interrogated Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. His representatives refused to comment. Summons have also been sent by the ED to Sonu Sood and Urvashi Rautela. His representatives have also not given a statement at the moment. The ED has tracked about 1,023 suicides by tracking the app. Which includes students, housewives and lower middle class people.
Warning issued before the Ministry of Information
This case is not just legal, but from a social and moral point of view. The Ministry of Information has already issued a warning regarding such campaigns. All the actors and the media were asked to avoid campaigning. The allegations against Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina are not only on the personal level, but also raise questions on digital gambling and illegal publicity in India.
