Both the Pro League matches between it and the Indian men’s hockey team to be held later this week have been postponed after cases of COVID-19 were found in Germany’s team. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) gave this information on Tuesday. These matches were to be held on March 12 and 13 but have been postponed after several cases of COVID were found in the German team. “FIH, Hockey India and Hockey Germany are working on a fresh schedule,” the FIH said in a statement.
India’s performance in the Pro League so far has been fluctuating. He defeated South Africa in both the matches but won one match against France and Spain and lost in one match. While the men’s team matches have been postponed, the FIH said that the matches of the women’s teams of India and Germany will be played at the Kalinga Stadium this weekend as per the pre-scheduled schedule. The German women’s team arrived here on Tuesday and captain Lisa Nolte is looking forward to playing in India.

Lisa said, ‘We have never played at the Kalinga Stadium before, so we are excited about it. It would be great to play in such a big stadium. India’s team is very strong, especially it did very well in Tokyo Olympics. There is always an advantage to play at home but we are not worried about it and want to take the field with confidence.
