Gorakhpur News: Kabaddi Kumbh will be organized for four days in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh in the memory of Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj. 12 renowned teams of the country will participate in the Kumbh which will run from 1st to 4th December. The winning team will be given a prize of Rs 2 lakh, the runner-up will be given a prize of Rs 1 lakh, citation and trophy. Apart from this, two teams will be given prizes of Rs 50,000 each. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present at the closing ceremony of the All India Invitation Prizemoney Men’s Kabaddi Competition.
The sixth edition of the All India Invitational Prizemoney Men’s Kabaddi Competition will be held in the memory of Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath from December 1st to 4th at the Regional Stadium in Gorakhpur under the auspices of the Uttar Pradesh Sports Department. The competition is running continuously since 2018. The sixth edition will be inaugurated by the State Government’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Girish Chand Yadav on December 1. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will reward the players.
The first All India Invitational Prizemoney Men’s Kabaddi Competition was organized by the Sports Department of Uttar Pradesh under Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj from December 1 to 4, 2018 and the second event was organized from December 1 to 4, 2019. The third edition took place in 2021, the fourth edition in 2022, the fifth edition in 2023. This will be the sixth edition of the event from 1st to 4th December 2024.
12 famous teams of the country will participate
Sports Director Dr. RP Singh said that players from 12 prestigious teams of the country will participate in this competition. Many international players will also participate in it. The sports department will provide a prize of Rs 2 lakh to the winning team and Rs 1 lakh to the runner-up, along with a citation and trophy. The two teams standing third will be awarded a prize of Rs 50,000 each. This year teams from Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Western Command Army Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bharat Petroleum Mumbai, SSB New Delhi, North Eastern Railway Gorakhpur, Army Red New Delhi, Army Green New Delhi will participate. In the year 2023-24, the host UP team was the winner. Runner up was JD Academy New Delhi and third place was Red Army New Delhi and Haryana team.
