Team India Champions Trophy Squad: The selectors of the Indian cricket team announced their 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 at a press conference held in Mumbai on Saturday, January 18. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team in this tournament. During the press conference, it was also informed that this time the Champions Trophy will be organized in Pakistan and Dubai under the hybrid model. The opening match of the tournament will take place on February 19 between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, while India will play its first match against Bangladesh on February 20.
Shubman Gill as vice-captain, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shami return
This time Shubhman Gill has been appointed the vice-captain of the Indian team. Mohammad Siraj could not get a place in the team, while Jasprit Bumrah, who has recovered from injury, has been included in the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal has got a place in the ODI team for the first time, and fast bowler Mohammed Shami has returned to the ODI team after 14 months.

Champions Trophy 2025 format and schedule
8 teams will participate in this tournament and a total of 15 matches will be played. The teams are divided into two groups:
– Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
– Group B: South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, England
3-3 matches will be played in each group, and the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-final matches will be held in Dubai and Lahore, and the final will be played in Lahore on March 9 (if India reaches the final, this match will be played in Dubai). All 15 matches will be played across 4 venues, including 3 in Pakistan and 1 in Dubai.
