Ind vs pak: The Champions Trophy match between India and Pakistan was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, in which Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami made an unwanted record. Shami has now become the Indian bowler to throw the longest over in the history of the Champions Trophy. Shami’s 11 -ball 11 -ball Jaspreet has surpassed Bumrah’s 9 -ball over. Interestingly, Bumrah also bowled a long over in the 2017 Champions Trophy final against Pakistan.
Shami joined Zaheer and Pathan’s club
Mohammed Shami has become the third player of India to throw an over 11 balls in ODIs. Prior to Shami, Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan also became part of this unwanted record. Zaheer Khan bowled an 11 -ball over at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against Australia in November 2003, while Irfan Pathan hit an 11 -ball over in Kingston against West Indies in May 2006. Interestingly, Shami, Irfan and Zaheer trio recorded this unwanted record in the first over of the innings.
Mohammed Shami bowled 11 balls against Imam ul Haq and Babar Azam, in which he scored 5 wide balls. However, only 6 runs were scored in this over. Shami failed to control her swing and maintain the line. Shami’s over was also the third longest over in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy. In this tournament, Hasibul Hussain of Bangladesh and Tinshe Panyangra of Zimbabwe set a record of the longest over by throwing over 13–13 balls.
