The star all-rounder, who has struggled to bowl after a back surgery, played his last match against Namibia during the T20 World Cup in Dubai on November 8. That is, after a break of about five and a half months, he will return to cricket.
Asked if he would bowl again, Hardik said it would be a surprise. During the launch of the team’s jersey at the team’s home ground Narendra Modi Stadium here, Pandya said, “Sir, it will be a surprise, so let it be a surprise.” and made him the captain of his team.
Regarding the captaincy of the team, Pandya said that captaincy is related to every single player and every member of the management. Hardik Pandya will be seen captaining for the first time. He has never captained before. He is very excited about captaining Gujarat Titans. He had earlier said that he would take over the captaincy of the team by combining the captaincy of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma.
