IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test: The fourth test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is going to start tomorrow. The Australian team has been announced for this Boxing Day Test match to be played in Melbourne. Two changes have been made in Australia’s team for the Melbourne Test match. Sam Constas has been given place in the team in place of Nathan McSweeney. This will be Sam Constas’ debut in Test cricket. Apart from this, Scott Boland has been included in the team in place of injured Josh Hazlewood. Travis Head, who has proved to be a headache for the Indian team so far in the series, has been declared fit and he can once again become a problem for the Indian team in Melbourne.
Travis Head, who was injured in the Gabba Test, was expected to remain out of the team till now. On the other hand, the Indian team has not been announced yet. It is believed that Team India can enter the Melbourne Test without any changes. So far, the series between the two teams is tied at one each, while the third Test match played at Gabba ended in a draw.
Sam Constas will play the first test match
Australian captain Pat Cummins has announced his final eleven for the fourth Test match to be played between India and Australia. Cummins told that 19-year-old Australian batsman Sam Constas will play his first Test match in Melbourne. He has been given the responsibility of opening in place of McSweeney. Constas will become the youngest Australian player to debut in Test cricket after Australian captain Pat Cummins. Cummins made his Test cricket debut in 2011 at the age of 18.
Constas has made his place in the Australian team by playing many brilliant innings in recent times. It is believed that he can bat explosively even during the Melbourne Test match. Another change has also been made in the team. Scott Boland has been included in the team in place of injured Josh Hazlewood.
Travis Head can become a problem again
However, all eyes were on Travis Head who got injured during the Gabba Test match. There were fears that he would not play in Melbourne, but Travis Head’s name is included in the team announced by Australia. Travis Head has remained a big challenge for the Indian team in the Test series played so far. He has made a big contribution in strengthening the Australian team and in such a situation, he can become a big headache for the Indian team even in the head Melbourne Test match.
Instead of practicing in the nets on Tuesday, Head took batting practice on assistant coach Brad Hodge’s throw downs. Australia head coach Andrew McDonald said that we wanted clarity about our batting unit before the team meeting. We don’t usually give out this kind of information, but we wanted everyone to know that he is included in the team.
There is no possibility of change in the Indian team
On the other hand, the Indian team has not been announced yet but it is believed that the Indian team can enter the Melbourne Test match without any changes. There is very little possibility of change in the batting order of Team India during the Boxing Day Test match. During this Test match also, captain Rohit Sharma is likely to bat in the middle order while Yashasvi Jaiswal can open the innings with KL Rahul.
During the last three matches in India, different spin bowlers have been tried. Washington Sundar was played in the first test match, Ravichandran Ashwin in the second and Ravindra Jadeja in the third. It is believed that Ravindra Jadeja will be a part of the playing 11 during the fourth test match. He scored a brilliant 77 runs in the first innings during the Brisbane Test match and played a major role in drawing the match.
