He played a brilliant partnership of 129 runs in 164 balls in collaboration with Yashasvi Jaiswal (101 runs), which led the Indian innings to the crisis. With this century, Shubman Gill has made a special place in the history of Indian cricket. He has joined the list of selected captains of India who has scored more than 50 runs in his first Test match. The list includes the names of veterans like Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli, and now Gill’s name has also been added to it.
