India’s 50-run win against England in the first T20I has given the team management a big headache for the second T20I match. It is not recommended to change winning combinations, especially when the winnings are accompanied by a large margin. In such a situation, the big question is whether Team India will include Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI for the second T20 International against England?
As far as former India pacer Zaheer Khan is concerned, he doesn’t think there will be any change in the Indian squad for the second T20I. Most of the players performed to their full potential in the first T20I. Though top players like Kohli, Pant, Bumrah, Jadeja etc are making a comeback, Zaheer doesn’t think skipper Rohit Sharma will replace the playing XI.
Zaheer Khan said on Cricbuzz, ‘It is difficult to find out in which direction they are going in terms of selection. You have seen India win the first match of the series and then make no changes for the rest of the series. I don’t think they will make any changes. If there is even one change, we will have to wait and see what it will be.
Zaheer Khan feels that if any change is made it will be a swap between Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. “I don’t see the possibility of change and you don’t want to lose momentum. Since Arshdeep Singh has not been selected for the second T20I, Jasprit Bumrah will replace him.
Arshdeep performed brilliantly with the ball in the first T20 International. He conceded just 18 runs in 3.3 overs and took two wickets. He also bowled an over maiden. He has become the fourth Indian bowler to bowl a maiden over in his debut match in T20 Internationals. However, sadly, he has not been picked for the second and third T20I squads. By the way, he will remain with Team India, as he has been selected for the ODI series.
