Hardik Pandya, who made Gujarat Titans Indian Premier League (IPL) champions in the very first attempt, has revealed the secret of his return to the Indian cricket team. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Hardik Pandya explained how it helped him win the war against himself and other things. In the video, he also talked about the IPL 2022 win and the awards that followed.
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya said that his routine during the last four months was very disciplined. He used to go to sleep at 9:30 in the night and get up by 5 in the morning in any case. Hardik told that he strictly followed this ‘time table’ for 4 months. After which he led Gujarat Titans to lead the team to the Indian Premier League title in his debut. This led to his return to the Indian team.
He said, ‘I was happy. It was a lot about winning a battle against myself and a lot of other things. Winning the IPL and even qualifying for the playoffs was a big thing for me because a lot of people doubted us. In the very beginning, many people doubted our ability. Many people raised many questions. A lot of things were said even before my return.
The 29-year-old all-rounder said that when he was out of the Indian team after the T20 World Cup, he would wake up at 5 in the morning for four consecutive months and was in bed till 9:30 at night. ‘It was never up to them to answer,’ he said. I am proud of the process I have followed. No one knows what phase I went through in those six months when I was out. I would get up at five in the morning so that I could train. For four months, I would sleep till 9.30 pm, so I made a lot of sacrifices.
Hardik Pandya said, ‘It was a battle that I fought before IPL. I have always worked hard in my life. It has always given me the results I wanted. He also told that the ongoing series against South Africa is the ideal platform to get into the rhythm for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Hardik Pandya said, ‘Whatever series or match you play till you reach the tournament, it is important. That’s why my target is the World Cup. This is the perfect platform to get into the rhythm. It is always very important to stay in the rhythm. Hardik said, ‘My role will change here, I am not the captain, I will not play higher up the batting order. This will again bring back the same Hardik for whom I am known.
