Mumbai veteran spinner Padmakar Kashinath Shivalkar died on the previous day i.e. March 3. In his honor, Team India is playing a black band tied to Australia in the semi -finals today.
Padmakar Shivalkar was a left-handed spinner in the 1960s. Apart from this, he used to play domestic cricket. He also gave coaching to the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team after retiring.

Former Mumbai veteran spinner Padmakar Kashinath Shivalkar died in Mumbai on Monday. He was also known as ‘Paadi’ in the cricket world. He was 84 years old. His death was confirmed by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Ajinkya Naik.

The BCCI mourned Padmakar Shivalkar’s unfortunate demise, one of the best spinners of India so far. The BCCI said that in two decades of career, Mr. Shivalkar played 124 first class matches. In which 589 wickets at an outstanding average of 19.69. He was awarded the Colonel CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 for his extraordinary contribution to the game.
