International Handball Championship: The International Championship of Handball is being organized for the first time in Lucknow. Four countries including India will participate in this tournament. UP Handball Association is organizing this competition, which will be held from January 3 to January 7 at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Multipurpose Hall located at KD Singh Babu Stadium. UP Handball Association President Alka Das said that under the Asia phase of the championship, teams from Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India will participate in both youth and junior categories.
After 6-6 league matches in both the categories, there will be semi-finals, finals and bronze medal matches. There will be four matches daily in the tournament. League matches will be played from 3 to 5 January, semi-finals on 6 January and final matches on 7 January. India will play its first match in the youth category against Uzbekistan on January 3.
