Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said that he will continue to experiment regardless of the criticism in the field of play. He has found ‘a purpose in life’ in this. Ashwin is enjoying his ‘one of the best season’ in the Indian Premier League. Although he has taken just 11 wickets this season, his economy rate has been very low. Along with this, he has also made a splendid contribution of 185 runs with the bat.
The deftness with which he caught Andre Russell in his spin against Kolkata Knight Riders is being regarded as one of the best deliveries of this IPL. In an interview to the Rajasthan Royals’ social media team, Ashwin said, “It is a very different year as far as I am concerned as a cricketer and as a person. To be honest, it has been one of my happiest years in the IPL.
Ashwin has done a lot in this IPL. This includes playing the role of a finisher (batting in the last overs) and sometimes a hitter in the middle overs. He said, ‘It has nothing to do with the performance or qualification of the team. It’s about how much I enjoyed my performance. The day I stop experimenting with the game, the day my passion for it ends, my game will end.
Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s second most successful spinner in Tests, said, “I am one of the very fortunate people who have found a purpose in life. The happiest moment for me was the dismissal of Andre Russell in the match against KKR. I really believe that the match turned from there.
Ravichandran Ashwin further said, ‘I had practiced him a day ago and was able to do it on the field for the first time. If it doesn’t work, I was ready to listen to criticism.
