IPL 2025 Final: The match will be played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday in the Indian Premier League 2025. This match will also be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from 7:30 pm. RCB defeated Punjab in the qualifier-1 match to make it to the finals. Whereas Punjab has found entry into the title match by defeating Mumbai Indians in Qualifier-2. The final match of the IPL is a big event, but sometimes the weather disrupts. If it rains on both days of the IPL final, then it is very important to understand the rules of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to know who the winner will be.
Reserve Day is also provided for the final
The BCCI has made special rules for IPL playoffs and final matches. So that the result of the match can be found in rain and other circumstances. There is a provision of Reserve Day for the IPL final. If the match cannot start or is not fulfilled due to rain on the final day, it will be played the next day i.e. Reserve Day. Before that, BCCI’s first priority is to complete the match of 20-20 overs. For this, there is an extra time of 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete the match in the event of rain. This means if the rain stops, then the match can play till late night.
Minimum over game and DLS Rules
If the match of 20-20 overs is not possible even after extra time, the umpire and the match referee try to match at least 5-5 overs. If the game of 5-5 overs is also possible, then the winner is decided using the Duckworth Lewis Stern (DLS) method. The DLS method is a system used to accommodate the target in rain -affected matches. If the game of 5-5 overs is not possible even on Reserve Day, but the weather is slightly fine and it is possible to make results in a short time, then the super over can be played. Both teams play 6-6 balls in the super over. The team which scored more runs is declared the winner.
Punjab will be the IPL winner due to rain
This is the last option to take out the result of the match. When the match is not able to yield any results despite the above efforts. If due to rain on both the main day and reserve day, neither a minimum 5-5 overs game is possible, nor a super over can be played, then the team, which is up on the points table in the league stage, is declared the winner of the IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play in the final of IPL 2025. If no game is possible due to rain on both days, Punjab will be declared the winner in that case. Because they were above Bengaluru in the league stage.
