Recently, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said regarding the number of matches in the next season, we have not taken a decision on organizing 84 matches in IPL 2025. This is because we have to take care of the load of players due to increase in matches. 84 matches are part of the contract. BCCI has to decide whether to organize 74 matches or 84 matches.
