47 players retained for IPL 2025
A total of 47 players have been retained for IPL 2025. Among these, there are some names who are intact with their teams and some teams have not even retained their previous season’s captains. This means that Mumbai Indians have retained Rohit Sharma. Whereas Delhi Capitals has released Rishabh Pant. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have retained the most players. Both these teams have retained 6-6 players. However, KKR team has not retained captain Shreyas Iyer. Under the captaincy of Iyer, KKR had won the IPL title last year i.e. 2024. Apart from this, Lucknow Super Giants has also not retained KL Rahul. Whereas Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli have been retained by the teams.
