BCCI told why Ishan Kishan is part of Central Contract
The BCCI recently announced the latest Central Contract, which was stated from October 1, 2024 to 30 September 2025. Ishaan Kishan has not played a single match for Team India during this period. Ishaan Kishan played his last match for Team India on 28 November 2023.
At the same time, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja are part of A+ grade even after saying goodbye to T20 format in Central Contract. According to the rules, the A+ grade includes the same players who represent Team India in all three formats.
The BCCI official said that the duration of the new Central Contract is from October 1, 2024 to 30 September 2025. But the performance from October 1, 2023 to 30 September 2024 has been evaluated for this thing. Ishaan (2 World Cup matches) and Shreyas have played 15 ODIs and some Test matches in the 2023-24 season and so they have got a place in their category.
While stating the reason for the A+ category players being in this list, the BCCI official said that, Kohli, Rohit and Jadeja played the T20 World Cup final in June 2024 and hence they were all active in the format at that time. Due to this technology, they should be placed in the A+ category. Please tell that Mukesh Kumar’s name is also included in BCCI Central Contract.
