Lucknow News: The late Ranbahadur Singh Memorial District Badminton Championship 2025, held at the Indoor Hall of BBD Academy in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, concluded on Sunday. The finals of the competition were very exciting, where the promising players of Lucknow attracted everyone’s attention by performing strongly. Fitness, strategy and patience made everyone the winner.

Sneha defeated Priyanka in the match

In the women’s singles final, Sneha Singh, while performing a tremendous game, defeated Priyanka Gautam in a tough match. The match lasted for three sets in which Sneha won the first set 21-19, lost the second set 15-21, but won the decisive third set by winning 21-15 in the third set. In the final of the men’s singles category, Prabhas Kumar Kushwaha played a brilliant game against Bhuvanesh Uthani and won the match in straight sets. The match in the first set was extremely thorn, who won 23-21, followed by confidence, winning the second set 21-12 and won the men’s singles title.

Farhan and Prabhas became the winner

In the men’s doubles category, the pair of Farhan Khan (BBD) and Prabhas Kushwaha received a walkover, as their opponents Moksha Saswat and Siddharth Mishra did not attend the match. Siddharth’s knee injury could not compete, due to which the pair of Farhan and Prabhas were declared the winners. BBD’s Nitesh Thakur performed brilliantly in the boys under-19 category. He won the first set against Shivam Yadav (KD Singh Academy) from 21-19, the second set lost 15-21. But in the third set, Shivam Yadav retired due to injury, which was declared the winner of Nitesh Thakur.

Competition prize distribution ceremony

In the under-15 boys singles category, Harshit Yadav made a tremendous comeback and defeated Lonibon in three sets. Harshit won the second set by winning the second set 21-15 and the third decisive set 21–17 after losing the first set 15-21. Viraj Sagar Das, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association and Dr. Navneet Sehgal (former IAS), President of Government of India, were present as the chief guests at the award distribution ceremony of the competition. Many dignitaries and sports lovers were present on the occasion including Dr. Sudharma Singh, Ram Mohan Aggarwal, Anil Dhyani, Dr. Yogesh Shetty, Dr. Anurag Dixit.
