Lucknow News: Judo and weightlifting team of Lucknow University excelled in various competitions recently. Judo team of the University participated in North East Zone Judo Competition held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. In this, Sushant Rai secured fifth rank in 100 kg men’s category and Khushi Kashyap secured seventh rank in 78 kg women’s category. With this, both the players have qualified for the All India Judo Competition.
This competition will be held at Guru Nanak Dev University from 15 to 18 January. Also, in the North Zone Weightlifting Competition organized at Lovely Professional University, Chandigarh, Lucknow University player Ankit Verma has made his place in the All India Weightlifting Competition in the weight of 55 kg. Which will be held from 15 to 18 January. General Secretary of Sports Council, Professor Ajay Kumar Arya said that these achievements have been possible due to the inspiration of Vice Chancellor Professor Alok Rai.
These teams were selected under the guidance of Dr. SA Alvi, President of Judo Club of Sports Council and Dr. Alka Kumari, President of Weightlifting Club. Lucknow University Vice Chancellor Professor Alok Rai congratulated the players and extended best wishes for the upcoming games.
