IPL 2025 new schedule: There has been a big relief news for cricket lovers about IPL 2025. The BCCI has released a new schedule for the remaining matches of the tournament. This decision has been taken after some IPL matches were postponed due to tension between India and Pakistan. The BCCI has announced that IPL 2025 will now start from 17 May and its final match will be played on 3 June.
It is said that the BCCI suspended the IPL for a week on 9 May. Earlier on May 8, the match being played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had to be stopped in the middle. This major step was taken keeping in mind the safety of the players and audience due to the increased tension on the India-Pakistan border. However, now a ceasefire situation has been created between the two countries, the BCCI has announced to resume the tournament. According to the new program, the remaining 17 matches of IPL will be held in six different cities. These cities are Bengaluru, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
What is special in this new schedule?
The BCCI was told that a total of 13 league matches would be played by May 25, which starts from 17 May, including two double headers (two matches a day). Both days with double header fall on Sundays, which will give the fans enjoy a lot of cricket throughout the day. After this, the playoff matches will start from May 29. In which qualifier 1- May 29, Eliminator- On May 30, qualifier will be played on June 2- 1 and final- on 3 June. At present, the decision has not been made regarding the venue of the playoff matches. The BCCI has said that the site of these matches will be announced soon.

The BCCI also thanked India’s security forces on the occasion. The board said in a statement, “We salute the bravery and perseverance of India’s armed forces, whose efforts have made it possible to have a safe return of IPL.”
