PAK vs NZ Womens T20 World Cup: New Delhi. India is out of the Women’s T20 World Cup. India’s only chance of reaching the semi-finals depended on Pakistan, but New Zealand recorded a stunning 54-run win over Pakistan, dashing India’s hopes.
Pakistan were in a strong position after restricting New Zealand to 110 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. But Pakistan’s batting collapsed badly and the team was out for 56 runs in just 11.4 overs. New Zealand have entered the semi-finals in Group A with three wins from four matches.
Australia top the group with eight points while New Zealand are in second place with six points. India missed out on a place in the last four after losing to New Zealand in their first match of the tournament.
In today’s match, spinner Amelia Kerr took three wickets, but seamers Lee Tahuhu (1/8) and Aiden Carson (2/7) left Pakistan Women in the dust.
Pakistan had to achieve the target in less than 12 overs, but they were all out before that.
Earlier, Pakistani bowlers performed well by restricting New Zealand to a modest score. Openers Suzie Bates (28) and Georgia Plimmer (17) added 41 runs for the first wicket and just when it looked like they had laid a strong foundation, the Pakistani spinners suddenly started putting pressure on the opposition.
