IND vs AUS Pink Ball Test: The second test match of the test series being played between India and Australia has started. This test match being played in Adelaide is considered important because it is a day-night test match which is being played with pink ball. India had won by 295 runs in the first Test match played in Perth and in such a situation, Australia will try to avenge its defeat in this second Test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
However, the Australian team has been considered very strong in the Pink Ball Test match. Australia has played the maximum number of 12 pink ball test matches so far and the Australian team has won 11 of these test matches. Australia has faced defeat in only one test match. On the other hand, the Indian team has played only four pink ball test matches so far in which the team has won three test matches.
Australian team has won 11 test matches
If we look at the history of the pink ball test match, the first such test match was played between Australia and New Zealand in 2015 in which the Australian team won by three wickets. After this, a total of 22 day-night matches have been played between 10 teams in which the Australian team has proved to be the most powerful.
This is the reason why Australia is considered strong in the day-night test match being played in Adelaide. The Australian team has so far played 12 day-night test matches and defeated the opposition teams in 11 test matches. There was only one test match in which the Australian team had to face defeat.
Indian team has won three matches
On the other hand, if we look at India’s record in pickup ball test matches, the Indian team has so far played four day-night test matches with pink ball and in three of these test matches, Team India has been successful in showing its strength. Team India has defeated England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the pink ball test match.
A special fact regarding India’s victory is noteworthy that the three day-night test matches that India has won so far were all played on home grounds. Out of four Test matches, India played only one Test match on foreign soil and India had to face defeat in that. In such a situation, Team India will try to improve its record by winning the Adelaide Test match.
India suffered a setback in the last pink ball test match
In the last day-night test match played between India and Australia, the Australian team had won brilliantly by eight wickets. During this test match played in the 2020-21 series, India had scored 244 runs in the first innings. After this, the bowlers of Team India bowled well and bowled Australia out for 191 runs.
In this way, Team India got a lead of 53 runs but the performance of Indian batsmen in the second innings was very poor. In the second innings, the Indian team was all out for just 36 runs. In this way, the Australian team got the target of 90 runs, which Australia achieved at the loss of two wickets and won the test match by eight wickets.
Indian team has entered with three changes
Team India has entered the field with three changes in the Adelaide Test match. During the first Test match played in Perth, Washington Sundar, Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel had entered the field for India, but all three players are out of the team during the Adelaide Test match. In place of these three players, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have been included in the team.
Team India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma did not participate in the Perth Test match due to family reasons, but he has come into the field to captain Team India during the Adelaide Test match. On the other hand, only one change has been made in the Australian team. Scott Boland has been included in the team in place of injured fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.
