Former India head coach Ravi Shastri and former cricketer and Mr IPL Suresh Raina will be seen doing commentary in the upcoming IPL (IPL 2022) season. Earlier on Tuesday, Shastri said in a statement that IPL is a wonderful physiotherapist and every injured player gets fit before it starts. On the other hand, Suresh Raina described Ravindra Jadeja as the suitable captain of CSK after MS Dhoni.
Ravi Shastri said in a press conference organized by IPL’s official broadcaster Star Sports on Tuesday that IPL works as one of the best physiotherapists in the world and has an amazing ability to make injured players fit for the league in time. Shastri may have said this in a funny way, but people inside and outside the cricket fraternity already feel this way.
‘Couldn’t do commentary due to bad rules’
Ravi Shastri, who was the head coach of the Indian cricket team, is returning to commentary after seven years. Who can forget his commentary style. He has been a prolific commentator. On his return, he said, ‘I was not able to do commentary due to being bound by a bad rule’. In fact, Shastri was constantly associated with the Indian team in some role or the other. He could not do commentary in that role due to a conflict of interest rule.
Whom did Suresh Raina tell Dhoni’s successor?
Suresh Raina will also be seen doing commentary for Star Sports during this IPL along with Ravi Shastri. He was not bought by any team this time. Mr IPL, who was a star player of CSK, said that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja can take charge of the team in future in place of veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni. There are veterans like Rayudu, Bravo in the team, but Jadeja has a very sharp mind about cricket.
It is worth noting that the 15th season of IPL will begin with a match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from Saturday (March 26). 55 matches of this season’s league stage will be played in Mumbai and 15 matches in Pune. Apart from Wankhede in Mumbai, matches will be held at DY Patil and Brabourne Stadium.
