Meanwhile, during an event, Ravichandran Ashwin made a big disclosure and told that he wanted to retire long ago but this could not happen because Ashwin had invited MS Dhoni in his 100th Test but the former Indian captain could not come for some reason. Due to which Ashwin could not retire.
Ravichandran Ashwin played his 100th Test in Dharamshala against England in the year 2024. Ashwin took nine wickets in this Test, including 5 wickets halls in the second innings. For this, the BCCI also organized a special ceremony in which Ashwin was given a special memento and also gave a speech in front of his comrades.
Ravichandran Ashwin revealed that, Ashwin wanted to play his 100th Test as his last match. For which MS Dhoni was also invited. However, Dhoni could not come to Dharamshala during this period.
During a book launch event on Sunday, Ravichandran Ashwin said, “I called MS Dhoni to hand over a memento for his 100th Test in Dharamshala. I wanted it to be my last Test match. But Dhoni could not come. However, I did not think that Dhoni would give me a gift to bring me back to CSK.
Ashwin further said that, this is a very good gift for me. So, thank you very much, MS, to do it. I am very happy to come here. The most important thing is that I have come back to Chennai Super Kings and not as someone who has achieved a lot, but as a person who has passed through the entire cycle and wants to enjoy the same as before coming back here.
