Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been injured and had to leave the field after retired. How did Rishabh Pant get hurt?
In the 68th over of India’s innings, Pant was trying to play the reverse sweep on the fourth ball of England fast bowler Chris Woakes, but the ball missed his bat and hit his right leg directly. Due to this injury, Pant sat down in pain. Physio immediately reached the ground and gave them primary treatment. Later, Pant was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. According to reports, Pant had a problem of swelling and bleeding in his leg and he was unable to put pressure on the leg.
Will Pant return to this match?
Rishabh Pant has a scan, but the report has not come yet. Only after the scan report will it be decided whether he will be able to play further in this Test match. If there is no serious injury in the report, Pant may return to the field for batting on the second day as his case is of “retired heart”.
What is the difference between retired heart and retired out?
